As the title says, it is not supported and therefore, it is recommended to use HTML geolocation.

Is it planned to make this API work again for new Teams client in the future?

Using HTML geolocation is a downgrade because we can't open a map to set a custom location.

Hello @Nerconer - Thanks for raising your query.

“Location API is not supported in new Teams client.
It is on our backlog but not planned for the foreseeable future.

We recommend using HTML5 Geolocation, and Media and If the standard HTML5 location APIs do not meet your requirements, please let us know your scenario so we can consider at a future date.”

Raised one doc bug here: MicrosoftDocs/msteams-docs#10571
