We don't quite know if we are allowed to ask this during the exam, but we are very much in doubt of whether to make a reference everytime we use the same setup/methods as you taught us in the problem sets and lectures. It is stated in the intro-part of the exam that, that indeed would be plagiarism, if it is text that is used from another source. Could you clarify the meaning of when to use quotations/references using code?
