Frame generation requires a few steps to set things up correctly:

  1. Own a game with Nvidia Frame Generation support.
  2. Own an Nvidia RTX graphics card with updated drivers.
  3. Ensure Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling is enabled in Windows Settings.
  4. Install this mod in your game directory.
  5. Launch your game and disable vertical sync (V-Sync) in the settings menu. Then toggle frame generation.

This will result in screen tearing. To restore vertical sync and keep frame generation working properly, open Nvidia Control Panel, navigate to "Manage 3D settings", and enable "Vertical sync" for your specific game.

Old framerate limiters don't work correctly. Check if they explicitly support frame generation first.

UPDATE FIXED IT:
First install dlss tweaks from nexusmods. Then use the dlss tweak version of this fsr mod and follow the instructions in the redme file for how to change the dlss path in the mod.
Now works perfectly!

Can't get it working.
Did everything as instructed, GPU Scheduling is enabeled. Merged the regestry edit, moved the files, turn off v-sync, HDR and Reflex but I don't get any popup at start and Frame gen is still grayed out... What can I try? (I'm on a RTX 3080)

RTX 3060, frame gen doesn't work for me. The game is Cyberpunk (bought in the EPIC games), Win 11. I tried versions 0.21, 0.3 and 0.5. I followed all the instructions from Reed me, checked that the HAGS was enabled, disabled V-sync and HDR. There is no pop-up window.
Edit: The mod works fine in the Witcher 3 (from steam), version 0.5. (still not working in CP2077)

I get the popup (in MSFS), but I don't get any option for Frame Generation in the Graphics Settings. Not even grayed out. I have an Nvidia RTX 3090.

EDIT: It was not mentioned anywhere but you have to turn on DX12 for Frame Generation to work. (You know what happens when you ASSUME?)

Will you work on adapting this mod for GTX cards? We're discussing these three mods mentioned in the forums, and your mod seems the most flawless, but it's sad that it's exclusive to the RTX series. We're eagerly awaiting its development.

From my experience it doesn't work well on 20-series GPUs, I get constant lag and judder when FG is enabled no matter what. And yes, I also use Vsync but it does not help.

If you're getting 60+ FPS on a FPS counter with FG enabled, then the image should look like 60+ FPS but it doesn't when tested on a 2080 Super, but it works as intended on every single 30-series FG video I've seen.

AMD themselves don't recommend 20-series GPUs for FG, likely due to slower Async Compute.

Cap your fps to half your refresh rate then it's smooth. In my case, I capped it to 150fps on my 300hz screen. Made a huge difference.

It would be important to add in the readme file or even in the nexusmod home page that every time the video driver is updated or cleaned via software (DDU for example) the register files for verifying the signature are restored and the changes must be reapplied, this applies also for those who use DLSS Tweaks.

In my opinion there is no improvement in smoothness because this mod is showing only the bug described here by NVIDIA:
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/geforce-graphics-cards/5/528723/portal-prelude-rtx-dlss-frame-generation-question/

The FPS is not doubled, the new generated frame is identical to the previous one

This has nothing to do with AMD FSR3, it's not a bugged dll like it was reported long time ago with Portal RTX and the link you have provided. This are real generated frames. Nukem9 is just replacing DLSSG with the AMD PLugin regarding their frame generation not the Nvidia one.

It should be noted that AMD themselves suggest a 30-series RTX GPU for FG, and since it's software-based it's most likely that the more powerful GPU you have the better. 20-series GPUs are supported but not recommended, I use a 2080 Super and don't get nearly as good results as most other people I've seen.

HELP I successfully installed the DlssTweaks version of the mod for Cyberpunk and the frame generation is working. The issue is my screen is tearing (as you said in the instructions) and overall it's not smooth (getting around 70 fps on 4k max settings, 240 hz 1080p monitor, 3080TI and 12900kf). V-sync can't be enabled in game as expected but enabling it via Nvidia control panel also doesn't work, the option will be showing "on" but the tearing is still there. What should I do for the game to be smooth without tearing? Also capping the frame rate to 60 or 120 and such didn't help, seems like the tearing is not related to frame rate.

Same problem, were you able to solve it?

It's not working in DXVK / VK games properly just yet it needs to be impllemented a bit differently since fsr3 doesnt officialy support it right now, not to say it's impossible but nukem responded in another issue that he doesn't have time for that yet view #141

I'm getting this in Ghostrunner 2 - maybe not enough VRAM and/or a memory leak.

I alredy wrote here the issue with Cyberpunk 2077 from Epic Games Store, and I've found the culprit for my case now. EGS overlay, hard deleted the folder with it (I wonder why EPIC didn’t add the ability to disable it in the settings), and the mod started working like a charm.

CP 2077 with overdrive is surprisely playble on RTX 3060 with this mod (1440p, DLSS Perfomance). Thank you Nukem9!

Edit: Overlay is on folder \Program Files (x86)\Epic Games\Launcher\Portal\Extras\Overlay. I just deleted all the contents of this folder

ty this worked on me but I also disable geforce experience ingame overlay so dont sure it is sole reason
