A number of times I have wanted to set a plot to autoscale in one direction but not the other. For example, I want the x-direction to auto-scale with time, but want to keep the y-scale constrained.
I can do this by setting "Auto scale?" true and then adding something like set-plot-y-range 0 5 in the plot update commands, but sometimes the y axis updates automaticall and then gets set back to what it was which is visually distracting.
