For my 50,689 word novel, I used a simple Markov chain model trained on the ten best novels ever written as determined by Project Gutenberg's "Top 100 Ebooks last 30 days" list.

Here is the first paragraph:

It was a distinct glimpse: the dugout, four paddling savages, and the lone white man turning his back upon him, lighted his tomahawk pipe and passed it to me for ever. I shall satiate my ardent curiosity with the sight of what is right. His pride, in that direction, and Jerry followed him, all eyes, ears, and spikes.

I have created a repository containing the final novel, code, and corpus used to generate it. You can find it here: https://github.com/aaronfink01/imitating-the-greats/tree/master

Thanks for reading.

From the entrance-hall, of which Mr. Collins did not think of that, but go on our way to the White Whale!
