Welcome. We're glad you're here at our humble little wiki. This is a very brief installation guide as there isn't much to do!

There are a few things to verify before installing Multiverse.
Depending on what build of CraftBukkit you're running, you'll need the matching version of Multiverse. See the table below for details:
CraftBukkit Version | Multiverse Version |
---|---|
1.8.1-1337 | 2.1 |
1.0.1-R1 | 2.2 |
1.1-R3 | 2.3 |
1.1-R4 | 2.3 |
1.1-R5-SNAPSHOT | 2.4-DEV |
To find out your version, go to your console (or in game) and type version
(or /version
if in-game). You will see something similar to this:
...
XX:XX:XX [INFO] This server is running Craftbukkit version git-Bukkit-1.1-R1-b1818jnks (MC: 1.1) (Implementing API version 1.1-R1)
...
Look closely at the first line, near the end you can see Implementing API version 1.1-R1
which tells you what version of the Bukkit you're on. If you only see 1.1-R1
, then you're on a release. If you see 1.1-R1-SNAPSHOT
, then you're on a development build. There you have it, that's your CraftBukkit version, just match it to the table above.
We highly recommend a permissions plugin. All testing occurs with PermissionsBukkit, however you can use any plugin that implements the SuperPerms API. Here are a few others:
This guide (on the right) will take you through setting up permissions, but if you want to go there now, click here.
Grab the jar. Download the Multiverse-Core JAR from the release site or grab a dev build from the Multiverse 2 Jenkins
There is NO Zip package available. Multiverse-Core (and MV Plugins) will create default configs for you on the first run.
*Optional: Install the Multiverse-Portals or Multiverse-NetherPortals plugins!
Place it in your plugins folder like so:
Start your server. That's it. Seriously.
