Is this possible? From the manual and my poking around, it didn't seem to be. But maybe I missed something?

If it is not possible to use these functions outside RStudio, could I ask this as a feature request please?

Thank you!

These are RStudio specific. In other environments I can't read data from a source window selection so it would have to be from the clipboard. Would that work? What editor do you use?

That would totally work! And that would be great 🙂

I use ESS in emacs. I am on Arch Linux but have xclip and it would be easy to copy and paste back in the function.

I've been using ESS recently myself. How cool would an Emacs interface be? 🤔

Ah! This made my day 🙂 RStudio is brilliant. But I am way too in love with emacs to stop using ESS. So any effort to make the cool RStudio new stuff work in emacs overjoys me 😃 (I have the same thing with org mode: it's way too amazing to stop using and I write everything in it. But it is also sometimes frustrating to see all these cool rmarkdown tools being developed so actively (blogdown, bookdown, etc.)).

Anyway, thanks a ton for the cool package! and for your interest to make all of its functionalities work outside of RStudio!
