Note that there are ripple affects when using a custom scheme.
See this discussion that I also initiated for some nuances with window.open().
MicrosoftEdge/WebView2Feedback#4085

Thanks for all the WebView2 effort. It should eliminate\replace a lot of our custom CEF1\CEF3 code.
