Unable to add new connections via Connection String - Version of undefined #1626
Comments
Hi @sonuame , What type of connection are you trying to add? Is it a generic storage account? Or is it an ADLS gen 2 account? Also are you using connection string generated by Storage Explorer or from somewhere else? |
I have a generic Microsoft account with Azure subscription "Pay-As-You-Go" I have the updated version of Azure Storage explorer. |
Hi @sonuame , Sorry for the late reply. We are still investigating this issue since we cannot reproduce it. This error is complaining about some property missing from our connection string store. After you see this error, are those old connections still working? Does this always happen when you try to add new connections or it only happens when adding some connections? |
Hello Jason, I have a SAS token and I am trying to create a new connection. Even in the past, it was 'hit and miss; for me. When I search in the google, it seems others encountered similar issues too. See here |
Hi Jason, I would like to report that I deleted everything from AppData and then things work nicely. Debasis |
The connection string was provided by Azure portal. I am not generating it. I uninstalled the app. Downloaded fresh and installed to the alternate location. I ran the app. Tried to expand the "Storage Accounts" without even adding the connection string yet... gives me the same error. I tried adding the new account via connection string... and same error again. find the screenshot here |
@debchat , Thanks for pointing that out. Actually it shouldn't require you to delete that many things to work around this issue. For all of you who are encountering this issue, could you please try the following steps: Windows:
MacOS:
Please let us know if these steps work. Note: |
Jason,
Glad that the problem which I was facing is real (and not user error).
Also glad that you now have a work-around.
Many thanks

5. Start Storage Explorer, in the top menu, go to Help -> Toggle Developer Tools.
6. In the opened window, go to Application tab -> Local Storage (left hand side) -> file://
