This game (R.C. Grand Prix) freezes in the shop.

Win the first 2 races, then you can go to the shop - but it always freezes for me?

This happened to me too, but on second try it did not freeze.

Between the first and second tries the following changed:

  • changed to a newer No-Intro .sms file (CRC32: 54316FEA)
  • switched from NTSC to PAL mode
  • set Disable Mapper to Yes
  • disabled FM Sound

So I'm not sure which change helped, or maybe it was just luck and none of them helped! The game is too difficult and irritating in the first 2 races (because the car has no upgrades) for me to want to try again.
