I'm getting failed to get device ID error. Screen is staying black.

This seems to be a defect, but I can't say what is causing it right now. I will let you know when will find something.

Same... But if i try it like 50 times this happens... Btw it doesn't boot and i have an s8... Btw were all on the flagship Ss and Notes so it could possibly be to do with knox

having the same issue with my pixel 3, ive tried two different cables (usb c to usb c and usb c to usb a, but with a usb c adapter) with the same results. it was able to read the id one time but now it won't even do that :(

Can't reproduce this on my Galaxy S9+ (Exynos) nor my Pixel 2 XL running Lineage OS

I am able to launch payloads on my S20 after I messed with developer options.. and force to enable usb.
S series phones are a pain sometimes.

I would say, that all Samsung devices are pain for developers 👍

Hey I'm the op I found a fix, I tried a different cable and it works, so I put it down to not all USB cables are compatible for some reason. Hope this helps

@ELY3M I also own a S20 5g and I'm getting the same error... Which option did u enable?

Same issue here with Pixel 5 / Android 11
After activating USB debugging and force data transfer by default when usb connection detected in developer options, I got the Device ID working.
But it fails now at "sending payload failed at offset xxxx"
No solution found
