Hello,

after seeing Live Photo info that it can be set as a Live Wallpaper that is made from camera app

I found that the file extension is .heic

I am currently working on finding the root of this issue. From my experience, if it appears that the subject of the image gets occluded during the live photo (created with the camera app), the live photo doesn't seem compatible. However, even with reducing motion in the manually created lived photos from videos, I can't get it to work. I have an open Apple support ticket that being escalated to the Apple engineers' attention. I will update this post with any information I learn.

I have the same problem now, tried to save the image with HEIC file and combined mov file to a live photo it still failed to be used as live wallpaper.

They said that they are aware of the issue and nothing else. You can check out the most recent developments on this MacRumors thread.
