Do not report issues when using the Virtual Desktop or ALVR drivers for SteamVR, this is not supported by Revive.

Describe the bug
A clear and concise description of what the bug is.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Open Steam VR
  2. Open Revive
  3. Launch Golf+ from inside Steam VR icon
  4. Golf+ loads to desktop and will not hook into HMD

Expected behavior
Golf+ recently updated and I haven't been able to get it to work with Revive since the update. I haven't seen anyone else post about this so I decided to add a bug report myself.

Environment (please complete the following information):

  • App: Golf+, Revive, Steam VR 2.0
  • OS: Win 11
  • Headset: Index

Versions (please complete the following information):

  • Revive: 3.2
  • SteamVR: 2.0

Additional context
I have tried removing and reinstalling all of the following applications in every possible order: Steam VR, Oculus, Revive. I was able to launch other applications on the Oculus store through Revive such as Oculus Dreamdeck and Touch Basics. Golf+ seems to be the only application that doesn't work. This issue started right after Golf+ updated. I'm unsure if they have updated their OpenXR Runtime but something has broken the Revive hook for the HMD. Wish I knew how to code and help out but unfortunately, I do not.

For the record, I figured this out but there are other issues I'm working through. Looks like Steam VR just released an update to 2.1.4 which added the option in Settings -> OpenXR -> Meta Plugin Compatibility that defaults to "off." You need to set this to "On" in order for Revive to hook into your index HMD.

The other problem is that the controller key binds are a bit weird and I can use the trigger to make a selection inside the right-hand UI panel but not the main UI panel which allows you to start a match. I'll post another update when I get this resolved.

Ah, you also had this issue :) Replied in another thread.

Thanks for the good work!

Looks like Steam VR 2.1.8/2.1.9 does not require Revive in order to launch titles on the Oculus store. That being said, it looks like Golf+ may have done something with the menus that make the SteamVR hook act strange. Unfortunately I haven't found a solution here and I'm looking at switching from the Index to the Quest 3. Just wanted to give everyone an update on what I've found while testing. All other menu's inside Golf+ work except for the ones inside a black border that allows you to accept invites or play the game. No work around in sight as of now.

Can confirm I am getting the same symptoms with being able to launch the game after turning Meta Plugin Compatibility to On, but cannot operate the menu once in game
SteamVR 2.3.1
