Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I've been experimenting with an alternate leveling option to iLVL, using actual levels. Problems I'm coming across are: skill caps not updating, and next level exp requirement not showing or updating. I change the database, and it doesn't seem to do anything. Is this something hard coded in the client, or buried in the C++ files? I have seen some snippets of code in the C++, but not sure if there's a central one that controls this. Thanks for any help any can give. |

pushing player levels above 99 is not and will not be supported. we also do not yet have master levels attainable, which would be the only real way to level further. While can technically do some of the things you imagine, its out of our wheel house (boathouse?) and you'd be on your own. I personally did not like the item level system, and was planning to use augments to [power my players in the post 99 world instead of item levels. That system at least mostly already works (we don't have all the possible augments at this time). FFXI is a really bad engine to make non-retail content on. The client gets in the way on most things and distributing modified files to try and get around that sucks. Take it from someone who has made up tons of things in this game: it is not worth fighting the client. |
