  • Automated mechanism to create arbitrary declarations to native c functions
    • Will lead to horrible crashes if the signature is invalid
  • Automatically converts from applicable charly types to c types
  • C types are automatically converted to applicable charly type
  • Use libffi/libffi
  • Maybe some fancy mechanism to declare c structs
    • Would need to automatically calculate struct paddings somehow?
    • Is this standardized?
import ffi

const mymathlib = ffi.dlopen("mymathlib.so")

// dlsym(name, return_type, ...arguments)
const sin = mymathlib.dlsym("sin", ffi.f64, ffi.f64)

sin                 // ForeignNativeFunction f64 sin(f64)
sin(Math.PI / 2)    // 1.0
