Conceptually throughout the UI, can we remove these buttons, and just have it where you enter a value, and hit enter/return, and it changes the value.

I purposely didn't do this since there may be consequences #2958 - still needs to be investigated.

Maybe it's just on return/enter and not on the real time scrubing of the slider.

I think Blender can't tell the difference. From Blender's POV it's just "the value has changed".

I found a solution some time ago to only fire a callback on releasing field scrubbing but it involves using a modal operator which is a bit cumbersome and hacky.
