  • In preparation for the macro team, I have collected a spreadsheet with variable parts identified as economic sectors in Import|*, Export|*, Final Energy|*, Value Added|*, Employment|* categories: docs.google.com
  • energy/tag_all_sectors.yaml already defines the Sector tag, but I think the different transportation modes (Bus, Freight) etc. should not be part of it, but rather a tag {Transport Mode} or so.
  • Industry|Non-Metallic Minerals|Cement vs Industry|Cement
  • Industry|Energy vs. Energy
  • Other vs Other Sector (ok, see below)

I think that needs some structured cleanup ;)

One quick clarifying comment: "Other" is used for other energy carriers whereas "Other Sector" is used for other sectors.

Following the ISIC classification
https://ilostat.ilo.org/resources/concepts-and-definitions/classification-economic-activities

And the most aggregated level (Agriculture, Industry, Services, see also this issue)

Transport should be declared as a sub-sector of Services, along with Commercial and Residential (and others).
