IE8 throws JS error on Gumby 2.6 Official Site

I am getting JS errors on IE8 on my site build and noticed the same errors occur on gumbyframework.com:

http://gumbyframework.com/docs/#!/browser-compatibility states that IE8 is supported.

I can confirm this issue for IE8 and think, this should be fixed.

I have these errors too. Can these be looked at please, especially as Gumby specify IE8 compatibility?
