What I am saying above is Laps can be embedded in your workouts, so they are available for navigation and automatic marking from the start. How to do that depends on the workout format you are using. This feature is readily available and it can streamline your workflow if you learn how to use it. |

sorry, I didn't want to be rude, and appreciate all the work that the whole team did. As this is a discussion forum, I only wanted to emphasis on a variable entry point instead of a fix one. I thought this might be of interest to others, having workouts for 150km and just want to do the last 20km. Another point, I marked it as bug fix, because clicking on skip forward I end up quit often in errors (s. below). And as a consequent, the video is out of sync. Without skips I never have any trouble. Do you have a idea what could be the reason for this. The videos are converted with ffmpeg:

I have no idea with respect to the errors, may be other Linux users can help if you post in the users forum. A new entry in FAQs to documents the use of lap markers: https://github.com/GoldenCheetah/GoldenCheetah/wiki/FAQ-TRAIN#how-can-i-fast-forward-or-backward-to-specific-positions-in-a-workout |

In UG_Workout Control_General is the start button which starts the workout from km 0. For long rides it would be useful to have a input pop up to enter the value. I know, that I could use the arrows to jump forward, but for a starting point at eg. 50 km it is not very convenient and the video is than sometimes not in sync or even worse it doesn't start.
