Although the local client will show entities being pushed by water (including the player themselves) if you attempt to interact with said entity it will reveal that it actually hasn't moved at all.

E.g. Throw a dirt block in flowing water. Wait for it to move a bit. Try to pick it up at the new location and it will fail. If you go to where you threw it you can pick it up.

I'm currently working on a good physics system for entities and then liquid will be able to push entities.
