Great project, I'm so happy I stumbled upon this before I install on my MacOS Server. If I may ask:

Will gerrit be automatically updated when a new version gets released?
Do you create a /Users/gerrit folder and user? I don't get where the /var/gerrit folder comes into play, sorry.

Hi, nope gerrit does not auto update on mac.

Also the user is created as /Users/gerrit/
