how to manipulate background color of <Backdrop/> component

I have an image rendered that I want to wrap inside the backdrop component exported from native base like this

  <Backdrop borderTopRadius={8} opacity={0.4} bgColor="red.900">
      <Image source={DummyAsia} w="full" h="full" resizeMode="cover" />
    </Backdrop>

I'm having difficulties updating the background color of the backdrop as the above code doesn't work the way I expected it to be

Can I have some guide on how to do it the right way because the Backdrop component is not in the docs
