I cant seem to host a world on an eu server

I was having problem with my friend where one of us ( the one connecting to the host) will fall in the void and eventually time out. So i tried to ping the adress where the server was host and i sawthat it was in america .The problem is that I saw on a closed issue that european servers were added . I dont understand why this happen and if its just my fault please help me
