Character encoding on terminals + blessed (the library we use under the hood) have been discussed in the past here: #85

Can you review all the discussion and experimentation with different console options and report back to us?

And if you're unable to solve your issue can you report your OS + Terminal + terminal environment variables that lead you to the above? Thanks!

@abrenoch -- Please see my comment on #295 (comment) and try those experiments, etc. to make sure you're not hitting an issue with blessed.

After you've confirmed it's not blessed, if you report your OS + Terminal + terminal environment variables that lead you to the above, we might be able to dig in more. (Unfortunately, if we're unable to reproduce what you see there's little we can likely do from our end 🤞 )

Thanks for the quick reply @ryan-roemer

I'll have a bit of experimenting to do - I'm using the KpyM SSH server on a windows server 2008 and connecting with putty (windows 10). Running the dashboard in a server command prompt window appears to work as expected... So this could easily be an issue with the SSH server I'm using.
