Is it possible to run a task only once when daemon spawns?

As the title suggests, I would like to run a task only once, with deamon, not cli. I am thinking alone the lines of :

    schedule: 
      minute: now+1
      hour: now
      day: now
      month: now
      year: now

Obviously it doesn't work, because I don't know python at all...Can someone tell me the correct syntax? Or is there a better way to do it?

Yu won't use the schedule for this.
Mark the task as manual, launch the daemon, call the execute via CLI and it will be redirected to the daemon instance

Yes of course I can run it via CLI, but the point of tools like flexget is automation, right? So I wish if it could be run automatically via my config.yml.

Well the point of automation is to automate a repetitive task. Something that is only ran once when the daemon spawns is a manual task not a repetitive task.

For me it is a repetitive task. I reset my flexget from time to time for various reasons, so I need to run it every time.

Can't blame us for interpreting it that way. In that case, you set the schedule to whatever your "time to time" interval is

First of all, thank you for answering my question. No intend to blame anyone:) The thing is that:

1. "time to time" is not a set time, it is usually when I reset my VM for whatever reason.
2. "reset" means that flexget is completely reset. If the interval is set to 7 days, it won't run when I start flexget, it will run 7 days after I start flexget (and 14, 21 days after so on and so forth), if I'm not mistaken.

What's your goal of having the daemon stay up if you are just running once without a further schedule?

I got 10 different tasks, 9 of them run periodically and 1 has to be run once when daemon starts.
If it is plain impossible, please tell me, I think I will just give up:)

This is definitely not built in to Flexget, I was just trying to understand your goals so as to give a better answer how to accomplish.

That is an interesting proposal. I do run flexget via docker, maybe I should add CLI command to the init script.

Yeah, I think this would be the way. Make a script or alias or something that runs flexget daemon start && flexget exec --task sometask or something along those lines.
