Describe the Bug

On our server, we have been making farms with Create for various Better Nether flora. It seems like the Create deployer simply refuses to place Stalagnate (whereas we haven't had a problem with Nether Sakura or other trees).

I don't know why the placement code would do anything weird; growing is where Stalagnate has to look really far up or down. We are just trying to use a deployer to put it onto netherrack. I've tried various angles and it just doesn't want to place.

We're on Minecraft 1.19.2, Better Nether 7.1.2, Create version 0.5.0g-796. But, I just tried it it Minecraft 1.20.1, Better Nether 9.0.10, Create 0.5.1-d-build.1161 with the same behavior.

Paul at Better Nether speculated that a datapack is needed to list items that the deployer can use / blocks that it can place. I didn't find anything like that; this doesn't seem like a 'deployer recipe' sort of situation since it's just placing a sapling. Should we try making a deployer recipe?

Reproduction Steps

  1. Load up Better Nether and Create in 1.19 or 1.20, with dependencies
  2. Set up a powered deployer targeting an air block next to netherrack
  3. Give the deployer stalagnate saplings
    Result: deployer moves

Expected Result

Stalagnate should be placed, just like other Nether saplings would be in this situation

screenshots of the setup?

Hi Tropheus,

I re-did some tests to get screenshots, and noticed a distinction I wasn't making previously.

The placement works as expected with a stationary deployer; the misbehavior comes with deployers hooked to a bearing or gantry.

For comparison, "hook mushrooms" from the same mod work fine in both cases.

(Setup on the left, with a deployer sitting still, works; setup on the right, with a mechanical bearing, doesn't.)
