Since I am currently doing more flexibility in the model, can I request to update a system version of tensorflow 2.0 alpha?

I think so, so could you please convert your code to tensorflow 2.0? This matter is so import for us.

we're currently looking into this, but migrating the code to Tensorflow 2 is a major undertaking that also carries risk (to stability, compatibility, efficiency).

We have done most of the code migration work under tensorflow 2.0, but we are currently stuck with a tricky problem. We have sent a help email to you, hoping to get any reply to you. Thanks!

Any updates on this front?

There is a branch compatible with Tensorflow 2, which will be eventually merged into master: https://github.com/EdinburghNLP/nematus/tree/tf2

The branch doesn't yet support eager execution, and any contributions to make it the code more native Tensorflow 2 are welcome.
