Could we perhaps include the amfh26{4,5}enc and nv{vp{8,9},h26{4,5}enc sink in utilgsp.js ?
Possibly with vainfo to check if and what is supported.

That's possible. Please let me know the exact pipeline, that should be added.

We could add it as an additional format, selectable in the preferences under "File" > "File container". Then we'd need 4 different settings for the different quality modes.

You can try out the pipeline by using "Quality" > "Custom GStreamer Pipeline".
