Good work!
A nice feature would be if you could tag your plugins and then filter by the tags. Like in a Sample Manager (Loopcloud).

Hi @Will-Develop ! Thank you for using Owlplug and sharing your feedback.

I agree it would be really cool, especially for large plugins collection.

Seconding this request; This would bring this app into the "absolutely necessary, invaluable" category. I'm really surprised no one seems to be able to get this right. If I want to search for all my compressor plugins, or ones that include a compressor, I simply cannot in my DAW. I was hoping this app was that missing link to bring everything under one umbrella and allow for organizing/searching plugins quickly. Installing has always been a pain, so this was nice to play around with. But I've uninstalled for now until tagging/advanced search is implemented.

If you use Reaper as your DAW, I found a little workaround on how to tag your plugins there.

Will! This is funny; After a long few hours of searching everywhere for a solution. It's stunning that it's 2022 and there's so little support for enhanced features in something as basic as file systems. Like where are all the proper tagging solutions? Windows allows you to tag photos and music, but even that was a poorly implemented afterthought, limited to a few types of files (no dll files unfortunately.) Even the paid or pay-to-upgrade solutions seem lack-luster like Tagspace.

Just about to give up, I had stumbled across your YouTube video. I'd heard about renaming plugins, but had misunderstood what was involved, and figured it'd turn into a messy nightmare filled with broken plugins and lost data. After seeing your video, that worry was dispelled, and then I spent another few hours feverishly tagging my plugins with your method, as well as your script to check that I'd created the correct smart folders.

It's working out really well so far. Thanks!

I am very happy to hear that
