How can I properly handle a dual no-show in an elimination tournament?

Where you state that it's not likely for 2 teams to forfeit at the same time. But I'm currently having real-case scenarios where 2 teams that are meant to play a match, are not showing up to play it.

I initially thought I could mark them as BYE, but seems like that is not possible. Being able to mark both as forfeit and have the next match have it as BYE would be the best course of action, but not sure if that's possible or how to handle that?

What do you think is the best way to handle this?

If you know that they won't show up before the tournament starts, then you should mark them as BYE from the beginning.

Otherwise, you can't forfeit both at the same time. The workaround - as I said in the linked issue - is to forfeit one, then forfeit the other in the next match.

This workaround would make one of them win though... giving them a higher rank in the final standings..
And also, if the next match doesn't have an opponent yet, i won't be able to forfeit them (this comes back to the use case where I'm trying to automate the flows)

Once the next match has its next opponent ready, how can I know that I should forfeit the player that didn't show up before? Because he would have been marked as win on the previous match...

The answer on #160 does not really answer this question though. 160 is specifically about allowing the final match to draw so the tournament can end. This is about having a dual no show in previous games before reaching the final so the next game in the bracket can unlock. That is much more likely to happen in the initial stages of the tournament than on a final (we already saw it happen on some test tournaments we ran)

I understand if you still don't want to support this, just wanted to make sure you see the difference in the issues.
