Google Now App and Launcher Audio Distortion When Launched from Any Screen (Nightly 8/16 CM12.1)

When activating "OK Google" from a voice command with the option "From any screen" chosen, upon launch the sound Google Now makes is distorted. This happens with the Google Now app as well as with the Google Now Launcher and the distorted sound is most obvious when launched from another screen or using "OK Google" while the screen is off and charging. Attempted logcat capture with Android Studio and hopefully it will provide some useful information.
