When you're creating or editing a button, under the general tab, there is the fill settings option. Having a color picker as a default tool is not very user-friendly. It's basically literally impossible to pick the right color using that tool or keep the colors consistent.
My suggestion is to implement a default fill based on the word type. If the word type is set as an action, make the default fill green; if it's a noun, make it orange ... and so on. You can use the Fitzgerald color coding definitions for this.
This implementation would improve the user's experience and save them time while editing and creating buttons.
