Keep the [name='search_terms'] input value after selection

I'm trying everything to have this simple functionality without a success: My select has a list of cities and regions (e.g. London, East London or Krakow and Krakow Bronowice). I would like to keep the search result after selection so if I choose the 'Krakow' and the again I click on Choises element the [name='search_terms'] input value and search result would be keeped.

Is there any way to make it work? I tried to store the value and then set it, but without a success.
