As shared in #5002, the Maryland COVID-19 Dashboard was not publishing case or death data from December 5 to December 21 after being taken offline following a cyberattack on the Department of Health. On December 21 (addressed in #5072), the state brought state-level case data back online, and we were able to use a back distribution by date of report published on the state dashboard to back distribute cases over those days where the dashboard had been offline. From December 21-27, only state-level case data was being provided. On December 28, the state reintroduced both county-level case and state- and county-level death data. This reintroduction does not currently include publicly available data for back distributing either metric so they will present as spikes in our dataset. Please let us know any questions.
