Use Case Background
After review of the Michigan calculated elements utilized in poverty/minority reporting, the workgroup felt that an additional element is needed in the national standard to allow for minority quartiles to be calculated. To keep the new element as consistent as possible with existing elements already in the standard, the team reviewed related elements and selected an option set that matches the element currently in the standard named “State Poverty Designation”
