Can we update loadouts without having to equip it to character?

Can we get a way to update loadouts without having to equip it to the character first? I’m working on an app that for loadout pages (for different activities), and it’ll work in orbit, but it would be nice to be able to override one in an activity (since you can’t change equipment in an activity).
