untappdScraper Web

Web application to scrape and analyze data from untappd.com. Inspired by this Python script from WebBreacher.

Using the Application

  • Navigate to the application (locally or at https://brandone.github.io/untappd-scraper-web/).
  • Enter an Untappd user's username.
  • Optionally, check the "Recent Activity only" box to limit the amount of data retrieved.
  • Optionally, enter a Google Maps API Key and click "Set" in order to generate a map of the locations at which this user has logged a drink.
  • Click Scrape and view the results:

Installing Prerequisites

Running Locally

npm install
npm run dev

The application will be started on HTTP port 3000. It will automatically reload when code changes are made.

Creating a Production Build

npm install
npm run build

Running the Production Build

npm install
npm start -- -p 3000 # The port defaults to 3000 if not provided. Running on reserved ports requires sudo.

Deploying to GitHub Pages

npm install
npm run deploy

The application should now be available at https://YOUR_GITHUB_USERNAME.github.io/untappd-scraper-web/

Linting the Application

The following will detect code flaws using eslint:

npm install
npm run lint

The following will attempt to automatically fix the detected code flaws:

npm install
npm run lint -- --fix
