As mentioned briefly in the Slack, for the manufacturer objects, a sensible place to link them to seems to be Wikidata items for said companies. As that is a freely editable knowledgebase that has handy things like links to the official company websites, links to semi authoritative identifiers like https://opencorporates.com/ etc.

For example, here is the Wikipedia page for Thermo Fisher Scientific:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermo_Fisher_Scientific
Here is the linked Wikidata item:
https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Special:EntityPage/Q643674
I'm assuming that one could integrate it using SPARQL:
https://query.wikidata.org
