I would like to execute SmartDiff from "History View" to compare two versions of a package which are managed in my favorized version control system. Especially GIT support would be nice.

Is anything happening regarding this? git is likely the most used VCS in the world. But, it is difficult for Microsoft BI developers.

@Liturgist Starting with release 2.3.2 (for Visual Studio 2017 and above), GitHub source control is now supported in Smart Diff. Have you tried this out?

I think this feature request on this page represents a request for a Smart Diff hook in a history view page. Currently you have to right click on the .dtsx or .cube or whatever file and use the Smart Diff menu there. But git is supported.
