Fast forward / backward buttons on locked screen disabled / greyed out

Steps to reproduce

1. Every app and the operating system are up to date.
2. Antennapod settings > User interface > External elements > Persistent playback controls 'on'
3. Antennapod settings > Playback > Reassign hardware buttons > Forward button > Fast forward
4. Antennapod settings > Playback > Reassign hardware buttons > Previous button > Rewind
5. Android settings > Lock screen > Widgets > Music 'on'
6. Android settings > Lock screen > Widgets > Show on Always on Display 'on'
7. Android settings > Lock screen > Always on Display 'on' > Tap to show for 10 seconds
8. Android settings > Lock screen > Always on Display 'on' > Show Music Information 'on'
9. Play a podcast on Antennapod and Lock screen

Expected behaviour

When tapping the locked screen, the forward and backwards buttons at either side of the play/pause button for the antennapod episode being played would allow me to skip forward or backward.

Current behaviour

When tapping the locked screen, the forward ans backwards buttons at either side of the play/pause button for the antennapod episode being played are greyed out / disabled. I am therefore unable to skip forward/backward when the screen is locked.
Note that it works across every other music/podcast/audiobook app (spotify, musicolet, audible, smart audiobook player...) and used to work with Antennapod before an update about a year ago.
Skipping forward/backward on Antennapod works with Bluetooth equipment whether the screen is locked or not, and works on the app when unlocked.
