Hi there, I recently got my savestate and my rom folder automatically replicating to a network share on my freenas server (yay Samba!) using syncthing and its been working great for backing things up and feeling secure.
This got me thinking of an idea but I haven't been able to figure out if its possible or how to do it. I have the steam version of retroarch on my main gaming pc. I can successfully load the roms, and with some manual intervention bring up the savestates that I have saved when playing on my RG351. When I savestate again from my pc they go to the right place on the RG351 after a few minutes (as long at its on and on my wifi).
The hurdle is that to get this to work I need to load the core and content, then go into retroarch's settings and manually change the folder for savestates to the folder for that system (/roms/savestates/snes, roms/savestates/n64 etc). Once thats done it works as long as I play that system.
The functionality that the 351ELEC uses, where it just knows what folder to save/load from based on what's playing, is that functionality in retroarch, Emulation station, or somewhere else? I would describe my programming/scripting skill as "I can crack things open and mostly figure out how things do what they do, but can't do it from scratch"
I understand this may be a more retroarch question rather than a 351elec, feel free to tell me to kick rocks, but even a clue where to start looking would be helpful. I've done some looking but haven't found a similar question, if this is covered somewhere else I'd be happy to be pointed in that direction.
Thanks!
