I've used this online tool before successfully, and I usually download the pdfs generated. Today when I tried to use it both the pdf's and the png's that I download are corrupted files that can't be opened on my computer.

Same here.

Same issue. But in my case the files are corrupted only when I introduce latex commands. With "normal" text, files are OK

I'm sorry that you are all running into the same problem. Unfortunately I have not had a lot of time to commit to this project lately. If someone feels comfortable with latex and wants to try to find the problem, I would be more than happy to offer guidance.

I wish I had a better answer for you all.

For me the problem was related to the labels. I solved it by changing them in this way: from l^+ to l^{+}.

Just to add: I get corrupted files when I have superscripts in texts that are either a label for another element or its own separate text element. Using lambroz's method sort of works for labels as the file does not corrupt but the superscript disappears, and does not work in text elements as I still get a corrupted file
