Addons Repo #89
-
Since AgnosticUI's inception I've been leaning towards the idea that AgnosticUI should have an “Addons” repo for things that don't belong in core. The whole goal of AgnosticUI is to supply primitives that work across frameworks. Complex components like date pickers, data grids, fully-featured tables, etc., should ideally be possible but community maintained. It's just not practical for me to maintain such complexity in core and would greatly increase the scope of AgnosticUI (and even potentially cause a loss in flexibility in terms of being agnostic across frameworks and increase in overall size). Example use caseHere's a related issue from working on tables component that lists a bunch of possible things you'd want in a full-featured table implementation. Adding all this would greatly add to complexity and maintenance costs. But it's valuable too. So, this would be a perfect candidate to go in a /agnosticui-addons repository. Action stepsI think for now I'll keep this as an idea and if I get enough requests for complex components, I'll revisit this notion of an addons repository for all that. |
