At this time, the group does not have a clear policy regarding abstracts.
If you look at https://aomediacodec.github.io/av1-isobmff/, the Abstract is just one line.
Same for https://aomediacodec.github.io/av1-hdr10plus/.
The AV1 video specification does not have an Abstract section but it's Scope section is only one line too.
Only AVIF has a longer abstract https://aomediacodec.github.io/av1-avif/

The abstract can certainly be improved but we need to agree on what it should contain. Also, I don't think it's critical. I would delay resolving this issue to a next version of the specification.

We decided that an improved abstract is nice to have but the current abstract is sufficient for the first version given abstracts in other AOM specs listed above.
