We currently don't have the expectation that pagerduty actually page anyone on their phones at all, just me :) I think figuring out a policy for that longterm would be ideal, but I think that's a bigger story.
Proposal
We need to write a minimal policy to make sure people are paged when they are in "rotation".
That assumes we would need an on-call rotation at some time.
A few questions:
In the meantime, what would be the alternative?
How many of our engineers are currently paged by PagerDuty?
How do we make sure the current state is not overloading just one (or a few) engineer/s?
