I am hoping to use this DHS top-countries-realtime data for a graduate school project, but am hoping to use a time series. Is there any way to get the historic data available that was previously available on this analytics page or should we web scrape this data starting now?

You can attempt to add date ranges to API queries, although only some endpoints support it. More in the documentation at https://open.gsa.gov/api/dap/.
