Applying "ep_facet_taxonomy_terms" to Instant-Results

So I'm using the filter "ep_facet_taxonomy_terms" to be selective about which categories are shown/filterable on search result pages.

This is working as expected:

• Search returns 1000 posts, and a list of 100 categories
• I use ep_facet_taxonomy_terms to then just display 4 categories, for people to further refine their query

But I can't figure out how to apply such a filtering to Instant Results. Please point me at the right direction
