Delete single pages of a pdf #528
-
Hi all! Great to see new activity on the project! Several scanners have the ability to scan double-sided. Since there are multi-page documents where not all pages are printed on both sides, there are usually blank pages in the pdf. It would be wonderful if it would be possible to delete individual pages of the pdf. Does anyone have the expertise and the time to implement this? This would be aweseome! |

would also be generally nice to have for any pdf, with "unnecessary" pages 👍 |

What scanner & scan software are you using? I am using a Brother scanner and Brother iPrint & Scan software, and the software does support detecting blank pages which are then excluded from scanned documents. This does work quite reliably for me, using the highest sensitivity level: |

Would also to have that sort of feature where you could basically set a threshold for detection of a blank page! |

Actually I do have a scanner with automatic detection of blank pages, but it doesn´t always work reliably, so I would opt for a general GUI feature to mark and remove certain unnecessary pages from a document. Example workflow:
Examples of unnessary pages after a weekend of scanning hundreds of documents:
I hope these examples show valid use cases. I´m afraid that such a feature might be a little more complicated because once it´s possible to delete any page froma document, afterwards OCR needs to be redone as the page could have contained text. |
