Greetings Steven. 👋🏼 I think that the But you can manually copy labels and milestones in each new repo. I guess it can take a lot of time but it is possible. Better that that, you can also write a script and integrate it with the GitHub Actions; it should create labels and milestones for you when a new repository is created. You can also run it via GitHub's API if that's easier for you. So, there are some solutions. 😃 Hope this helps, cheers. 🍀 |

Hi GitHub Community!
My students are going to do a project that we track through GitHub Classroom, and I am in the process of configuring the Classroom environment. At the moment we are using expertly crafted excel files that the students have to fill in, so we can do a retro in which we look back at who is assigned to each issue, and what the status of that issue is, all the while we taught them to use Github projects to track their team's issues. In my eyes, it would be way easier if we ditch the excel files and do our retro's entirely within GitHub Projects.
The trouble I am having, is that I see no options to copy over things like labels and milestones from the selected template project when creating a classroom repo. I understand projects are no longer bound to repo's, however I would at least like to copy the labels and milestones over, so that the students can create a GitHub project themselves and use whatever we provide in the template repo. I however see no options for this in GitHub Classroom, and the created repo's only come with the default labels and no milestones. Am I overlooking something, is there a better way of doing this or do I have to send a feature request? Help is very appreciated.
