Prevent a collaborator from copying my private repository if they are invited. #69646

In Git, especially on platforms like GitHub or GitLab, once you give someone access to your private repo, they can clone it. That's just how it works. If your prof needs to see the code but you don't want to give him full clone access, you might consider keeping an eye on the access logs to see what actions he's taking. This isn't prevention, but it does give you some oversight. |

I'm working with a private repository in Git and a professor demanded that I have access to the code to review it. Although I can add him as a collaborator, can I prevent my teacher from cloning my repository through any permission or configuration?
I appreciate if you can help me with that, since I don't see the possibility of a collaborator "role." For example, in a Google Drive file I can define roles such as Reader, Commenter, Editor. Maybe there is something similar in Git that I'm not finding.
Thank you very much to all !!!!
